Blueberry acai sorbet with a hint of lemon scooped into a bowl and topped with your favorite smoothie toppings. Perfect summertime breakfast that is delicious and so refreshing.
We’re obsessed with smoothie bowls. Its such a great snack that is quick to make and usually one of our go-to breakfasts after a weekend workout.
Acai bowls take me back to our trip to Australia where we literally ate acai bowls almost every day. It became part of our routine, we would walk to the gym and on our way back we’d stop and grab a bite to eat by the water and enjoyed a delicious acai bowl.
The most common way to eat the smoothie bowl is blending frozen ingredients into a thick layer of cold smoothie. A lot of places in Australia actually serve their acai bowls using acai sorbet scooped into a bowl since its so hot during the summer it prevented the acai from melting to quickly. For our acai sorbet recipe click on the link https://thecommunalfeast.com/2020/06/no-churn-blueberry-acai-sorbet/ This is a make ahead sorbet recipe, if you don’t have time to make the acai sorbet you can simply add the acai packs to a blender with frozen fruit like bananas and blueberries which should give you a nice thick cold smoothie base.
Top your bowl with fresh banana’s, strawberries, granola, chia seeds, passionfruit, honey or nuts.
Enjoy!
