Crispy fried Avocado Fries with creamy garlic salsa verde and spicy mayo. Coated in panko breadcrumbs and quickly fried until crispy and golden then dipped in a creamy, garlicky sauce mixed with spicy roasted salsa verde with extra drizzles of spicy mayo and loads of fresh chive to finish it off. Squeeze with fresh lime for the perfect finishing touch. These are the best crispy on the outside and soft on the inside avocado fries. These make for a super fun and tasty pub-style appetizer, snack or a side.
Creamy avocados get a makeover and are served up pub-style for a fun twist on regular french fries. The at home addition of restaurant-quality food made by you for you and your family. Dunked and dredged into a flour and cornstarch dry mix that’s seasoned with paprika, garlic powder, cayenne and salt and pepper and gets mixed together with soda water for a light and airy addition of carbonation to the batter. Giving our fries an extra crunchy bite and rolled and coated into dry panko breadcrumbs so that the avocado stays intact and creamy on the inside while developing a crispy crunchy outer layer. Of course crushed up potato chips would be a fun addition to the panko for a different texture.
To end up with the perfect soft on the inside crunchy on the outside, you need to use ripe avocados. Basically an avocado you would use for your toast, breakfast or any other recipe. It needs to be soft but not overly ripe where its too soft and the skin is impossible to peel off. If your avocado isn’t ready and too firm and it’s too rubbery and hard to eat with little flavour- well the fries will end up tasting just the same.
For this particular recipe, we decided to skip the homemade sauces and just stick to focusing on making the avocado fries incredible. We used store bought creamy garlic from Farmboy- It’s so friggen good! and salsa verde where we ended up mixing the two together to create a tasty blended sauce perfect for these fries. For a pop of colour we added a drizzle of creamy spicy mayo and tons of finely chopped chive. We will leave it to you to serve up your preferred choice of sauces for these fries. Of course we highly recommend you give these a try! I love adding salsa verde to mashed avocados for super tasty guac, so I figured it would go great here and just needed something creamy to hold it together so that the fries could scoop it up nicely. Almost like dunking regular french fries in mayo. Is this a french thing?? I don’t know who esle eats their fries with mayo?!?
