Homemade pizza blanco made with rich and creamy whipped ricotta, caramelized onions, fresh mozzarella, and crispy sage leaves for the perfect light autumn pizza.
This pizza is just the right amount of cheesy, has a light crust and 100% homemade which makes it extra special and feel healthier. We love the whipped ricotta. It becomes smooth and creamy which makes it spreadable. It’s light and fluffy mild taste allows the other ingredients to shine which gives you that earthy, sweet savoury taste that’s the perfect mix of fall flavours.
As soon as this pizza comes out of the oven, top it with black sesame seeds and a light drizzle of honey. This pizza is seriously sooo good and we can’t get enough we’ve made it sooo many times. Just wish we had a quality pizza oven to make it that much better.
For the dough we made our own. If you have some time and are willing to put yourself through the work go for it. It’s easy to create the dough, the hard part is stretching it out without tearing it and getting it to a good size. Not gonna lie, it took a few tries.. We used the ooni recipe for a classic dough, they also have a recipe for a quick dough, however we haven’t tried it out ourselves. It turned out good so i’d recommend it. There is also a video you can watch on the website if you’re looking for a visual tutorial. Store bought definitely makes it easier, just be sure the dough is room temperature.
We hope you enjoy this recipe! If you give this recipe a try, let us know! Leave a comment, rate it (once you’ve tried it), and take a picture and tag it on Instagram! We love to see what you come up with. #thecommunalfeast
