Brisk air, falling leaves, and cozy sweaters, it’s time to transition to more comforting recipes and bring in the new seasonal foods that are now in rotation. Crostini’s are the perfect party snacks! They are easy to assemble, non-messy and portable. Its simplicity can be made up of just about any cheese and toppings and presented to look elegant.
Inspired by the abundance of stone fruits that are currently available, we’ve decided to build a thanksgiving menu that features an array of stone fruits. As our appetizer we’re showcasing plums on a french baguette. The apple and maple Boursin has just the perfect amount of sweetness to balance out the tartness of the plums. It makes for a great fall appetizer that’s quick and easy to assemble.
The crostinis are finished with fresh thyme and a light drizzle of honey for just a touch more sweetness. We opted to keep the baguette non toasted as oven space can be limited for those cooking for larger crowds. No need to keep an eye out on the bread that’s toasting in the oven. That’s one less thing to worry about!
Hosting can be a bit stressful- we get it and have definitely felt overwhelmed on occasion. Things that can be prepared in advance are always a plus! You can make these crostini’s 30-20 minutes in advance of your guests arriving, simply store them already assembled in the refrigerator and bring them out right before the guests arrive. Don’t make these too much in advance as you want to ensure the plums remain fresh.
