orange aperol crush

Orange Aperol Crush- a classic aperol spritz with a twist that’s made with a hint of fresh lemon juice, and finish with a pop of orange shaved ice on top.

orange aperol crush

A fun refreshing twist on one of our favourite cocktails to finish off the last warm days of the year.  This is a super easy cocktail to whip up last minute to take out back and enjoy that beautiful sunshine or to host for brunch or as soon as 5 o clock hits. Really its just great for just about any occasion.

ORANGE SHAVED ICE

The orange shaved ice is just made from orange juice that’s poured into ice cube trays and chilled until solid. Once it freezes Smash it up with a mallet until it turns into crushed ice. That’s it just spoon it overtop the cocktail once its made and serve it up. I just wanted to throw something on top of the cocktail that would pop and give it a whole new look. You could do this with just about any juice, tea or make a little granita. I will probably try and make some shaved aperol ice/ granita for a future cocktail. I think it makes it super cute and playful. This would be fun for non-alcoholic drinks and for the kids or kids birthday parties.

STIR IT ALL UP

To make this cocktail, its built directly in the glass. I like to make sure i have my crushed ice on hand and ready for when I need it. To do so, i simply put the ice cubes in a bag and smash em up with a mallet. Transfer them into a tray and keep in the freezer so that the crushed ice is all ready to go. Once you have your ice ready, take your glass and add the aperol, lemon juice, fill the glass with ice, give it a little stir with a bar spoon and top it off with the sparkling wine. Take the bar spoon and add the shaved orange ice on top. Stack it so it towers high and comes out of the glass if you can. Serve it and enjoy!
