  • 1 tsp garlic powder or 1 grated garlic clove
  • 4 thin pineapple wheels
  • 6-8 thin slices of ham
  • 1 cup shredded pizza mozzarella
  • jalapenos thinly sliced into rounds

Instructions

  • To make the dough: mix together the water, sugar and yeast. Let stand 5 minutes. In the bowl of a stand mixer, combine, flour, salt, and olive oil. Make a well in the centre and pour in the yeast minutes. Mix over medium speed using the dough hook until it starts to form a ball and comes together. Once the dough forms into a ball, divide in 2 and place in 2 separate oiled bowls. Cover with cling wrap and damp kitchen towel. Place in a warm area and allow to rise for 1 hour.
  • Preheat the oven to 500 degrees F 1 hour before cooking pizza.
  • Once the dough has doubled in size, transfer to a lightly floured surface. Stretch it out using your hands and knuckles into a large rectangle. Lightly dust a sheet pan with a touch of cornmeal or semolina to prevent from sticking. Place the pizza dough into the sheet pan and gently press it to the edges using your fingers.
  • To make the tomato sauce: combine crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, salt, oil, oregano and garlic together. Spread a few spoonful's of sauce across the dough and spreading into a thin layer. Top with shredded mozzarella, pineapple rounds, ham and jalapenos. Bake for 6 minutes until the cheese is nicely melted. If you prefer crispy ham, broil for 1-2 minutes. Enjoy!
