Pomegranate Margarita

Pomegranate Margarita with tequila, triple sec, pomegranate juice, lime juice, and a pomegranate syrup all shaken together over ice and poured into a tajin rimmed glass.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 oz tequila
  • 0.5 oz triple sec
  • 2 oz pomegranate juice
  • 1 1/2 oz lime juice
  • 1 oz pomegranate syrup see notes
  • tajin for rim

Instructions

  • on a small plate, spread the tajin. Dip the rim of the glass into the pomegranate syrup and roll into the tajin. Fill glass with ice and set aside.
  • In a shaker tin combine tequila, triple sec, lime juice, pomegranate juice, and syrup. Fill with ice and shake for 30 seconds.
  • Strain into prepared glass and garnish with pomegranate seeds.

Notes

Pomegranate syrup: Bring to a gentle boil 1/2 cup of granulated sugar, 1/3 cup of water and 1/3 cup of pomegranate juice. Once boiling and sugar has dissolved, add a few pomegranate seeds, 1 stick of cinnamon and 1 star anise. Reduce and simmer until thickened, about 10 minutes. Let cool and transfer into squeeze bottle.
