blood orange paloma

A refreshing winter twist on a classic Paloma. Made with freshly squeezed blood orange juice, lime juice, tequila, and simple syrup. Rimed with zested lime, chili powder + salt and finished off with some soda to fill the glass.

Ingredients

  • per single serve
  • 3 oz blood orange juice freshly squeezed
  • 1 oz lime juice freshly squeezed
  • 2.5 oz tequila reposado preferred
  • .75 oz simple syrup
  • 2-3 oz soda water to fill the glass
  • ice
  • Garnish: rosemary blood orange wheel, or sugared cranberries
  • rimmer
  • Zest 1 lime
  • 1 TBS flaky sea salt
  • 1 TBS chili powder

Instructions

  • Combine all of the ingredients of the rimmer onto a plate and stir combine. Run lime around the edge of the glass and rim with salt mixture.
  • Build in shaker or tall glass. Combine blood orange juice, lime juice, tequila, and simple syrup. Add half ice and stir until just combined.
  • Fill glass with ice and top with soda water. Use a tall bar spoon to stir in the soda.

Notes

Pitcher (serves 6-8)
6 cups blood orange juice
1 cup lime juice
1.75 cups tequila (14oz)
6 oz simple syrup
serve: Combine all the ingredients in a pitcher and stir with wooden spoon until well combined. Stir just before serving. To a glass fill with ice, pour contents of pitcher 3/4 full and fill remainder of the glass with soda.
